The lab-setup consists of two pipelines coming out from a common manifold. One pipe line contains a Venturimeter and other contains an Orifice meter. The installed Orifice meter and Venturimeter are made from transparent acrylic. Both of these meters are connected in parallel and hence any one can be used depending upon the experiment being performed. Pressure tapings on the Orifice meter are connected to differential manometer to measure pressure difference. A flow control valve is provided on the downstream of the Orifice meter so as to regulate the flow of water using this valve.
The latest apparatus is a self-reliant water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Flow in the water line is adjusted by Flow control valve and by-pass valve to conduct the experiment on different flow rates. Flow rate of water is measured with the help of markings provided on the measuring tank and stop watch.

- To demonstrate the use of Venturimeter & Orificemeter as flow meters.
- To determine co-efficient of discharge through Venturimeter and Orificemeter.

Orificemeter : Orifice plate made of Stainless Steel and housing made of clear
Acrylic compatible to 1” Dia. Pipe.
Water Circulation : ½ HP Pump, Crompton make.
Flow Measurement : Using Measuring Tank with Piezometer, Capacity 25 Ltrs.
Sump Tank : Capacity 50 Ltrs.
Pressure measurement : By differential water manometer
Stop Watch : Electronic
Control Panel Features are:
Standard make On/Off Switch, Mains Indicator, etc. Tanks will be made of Stainless Steel.
