The flow through orifice experiment set-up comprises of a tank which has an inlet supply diffuser, overflow, and provision for fitting Orifice or Mouthpiece provided at the outlet of tank. It is designed to vary head and keep it constant at desired level. A pointer gauge arrangement is provided for measuring X-Y co-ordinates of Jet.

The experimentation apparatus is self-reliant water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Measuring tank and stop watch are used to measure the flow rate of water.

SCOPE OF STUDY:

  • To determine the co-efficient of discharge of different Orifice and mouthpieces.
  • To determine the co-efficient of velocity of different Orifice and mouthpieces.
